What is? Two-speed Automatic 4WD (4x4)
I received a brochure yesterday for the 2012 F150 (no $750 coupon) and under Lariat it has listed Two-speed automatic 4 WD (4x4). I searched on the Ford wed site, I built my own and no where does it explain what this "Standard" feature is or what it does....
Perhaps on of you could explain........Thanks

I saw two speed automatic and thought, those haven't been in any vehicle since the 50's. Then I realized you were talking about the transfer case (even if you didn't know it). The new transfer cases you don't require any input on the drivers side when it come to switching from 4WL to 4WH (a downside to some) or vise versa. The good thing about them, you can keep 4WD engaged on a dry day when running on asphalt with out any need to worry about damaging something. In actuality, F150s have made the switch to having an all wheel drive option (which can be used at all times) where with a manually engaged transfer case where you want to limit use when not on at least gravel or snow.
