Default Rpm gauge.

I have a 03' f150 XL 5 speed with no rpm gauge. I'm just curious if you can just buy a new gauge faceplate with a rpm gauge or is there wiring to the trans involved??

Plug and play. An ex of mine rolled her 03 XL and I tore the dash apart before it went to the wrecking yard to get the cluster out. It worked when I swapped it in...but it didn't transfer the mileage. I learned later you have to have the dealership transfer the mileage. Most people I know just add and aftermarket gauge in a pillar pod...
