Default Front door to fender seam not properly aligned

Picked up my truck last week as a CPO from Ford. 2015 XLT, 4WD supercrew, 20k miles, in awesome shape. Totally flawless inside and out, or so I thought!

I noticed when looking down the line of the truck that the front fender sticks out past the front door. If you ran your hand up the front from back to front, it would strike the fender. Seems even at top and bottom, but sort of bulges out in the middle. Worse on the passenger side than the driver's.

Anyone encountered this before? Truck had a clean car fax, I was told no accidents or anything. Doors seem aligned well otherwise, and open and close easily. No weird noises or wind noise.

Think I should have the dealer take a look at it? I've had the truck about 4 days.

If it bothers you, have the dealership see if they can adjust it a bit. These things are mass produced, there is going to be variance....sometimes a good tech can get gaps and alignments closer.

Yeah I suppose I will see what they say. I want it not to bother me, but it does. On closer look, it seems the bottom of the door just needs to be bumped out slightly, maybe it's a quick fix.

That looks normal to me. Here is a picture I took awhile back showing both fenders. I wasn't trying to show the fender gaps so the angle is a little close, but you can still see they don't line up even with the door panels

Interesting. I agree, yours looks actually more pronounced. Is this normal, or just common?

I've read a lot of threads about doors not lining up but can find much about the fender/door gap.

Honestly I can list with it, the truck is so badass, but my ocd is kicking my *** here. So I'll at least bringing it to the dealer attention and get their input. Or maybe even drop by a body shop and get their opinion.

I'm not as body man so I could be wrong but I'm thinking a little outward gap is needed to ensure the door doesn't hit when opening it.

I don't agree, if you look at any car, that seam is flush.

But this is a Ford truck, I have worse on my 13. If you address it, it may cause another issue. I would leave well enough alone.

Unfortunately, Ford has yet to master door alignment on their 2015 and up aluminum bodied trucks. My 2015 F150 Platinum looked much the same as your's straight out of the factory. Many of us are hopeful that Ford has finally resolved this issue for the 2018 model year trucks.
