Unhappy Ford Tremor nightmare

Anyone else buy a 2023 Tremor with a malfunctioning air conditioner? We bought a Tremor in June and since then it’s been at the dealership more than our house (over two months combined over 4 different stints). The air conditioner will just randomly freeze up and stop working. Not ideal when we are having the hottest summer in recorded history.

The dealership is unhelpful and assured us it was all fixed the THIRD time they had it - only to have the air conditioner shut off again not 10 miles away from the dealership after picking it up. Now they’ve had it for yet another week and claim they finally figured it out and replaced the evaporator—- is it really fixed? I guess we’ll find out this week but I’m not hopeful.

Asheville Ford has been extremely unhelpful and corporate has denied our request for a full buy back. We loved the Tremor otherwise. We were so excited to buy a new truck and it’s been nothing but stress and paying an astronomical truck payment while not having the actual truck.

Anyone have any advice? Is there anything we can do or are we just SOL?

If you are that unhappy with it talk to a lemon law attorney in your state. It`s free.

Thanks - we actually did talk to Richard McNeil, a NC lemon law attorney in Raleigh. We are sending him all of the service records and the loaner records to prove the time we have no had the vehicle (as the dealership already tried to lie to corporate).

We have not retained his office yet as I’m going to appeal the buyback decision first- but I’m also just curious about how many others are experiencing this issue. It’s possible a class action law suit will come down the pipes.

See the thread about AC problems in the 2021+ forum. AC systems that freeze up randomly are VERY common. And Ford seems not to care.

My 2020 XLT 5.0 went through this..(not even 2 weeks old) . Dealer where I bought had the nerve to tell me the factory forgot to fill it.... apparently I had stupid written on my forehead . They filled it and a week later it stopped working so I went to another dealer who confirmed the condenser had a hole in it so fixed under warranty. That was 2 yrs ago and no problems since....(fingers crossed).

Lots of info and personal accounts in the other late model AC problem threads. Seems like dealers have claimed various "definitive" repair methods, from software updates to clearing out contaminated components or fluids, but many people still have problems.
