Are you on dry pavement?

yes, it happens on dry pavement. the hesitation im getting before the intense clunk is almost as if i were driving over a curb with the wheels turned. typically happens at low speeds and is getting worse

The front diff is binding up on dry pavement. Eventually you will break something, 4x4 is for slippery surfaces, mud, snow, wet grass. Is this your first 4x4 ?

I read that as problem wife.... Have to be more careful browsing the forum on the iPhone.

Don't use 4x4 on dry pavement and try to make sharp turns. Because the front wheels are rotating at different speeds when making a sharp turn the 4x4 system doesn't like that as evidenced by the chattering / clunking noise. Do it enough and something expensive will happen.

Seeing as it's your first 4x4 take some time and go through that section of your owners manual
