Ford replacement parts quality issues
I have to replace a couple parts on my new F150 (front tow hook and cab rear wall insulation) that were defective from the time I took delivery.
I attempted to replace them today but the parts that came directly from Ford Motor company were defective as well.
The way they were packaged was terrible. The tow hook was boxed with no bubble wrap , insulation was not boxed and all wrinkled from being folded.
Insulation also was flawed in manufacturing just like the one that my truck was built with.
This is not the 1st time this has happened.
The same issue happened when I replaced a rear view mirror for my 2013 Mustang that I had prior to my F150.
Took 3 different mirrors from Ford before I got a good one.
In my opinion Fords quality control is a disgrace when it comes to replacement parts.
Has anyone else ever had this problem when it comes to Ford replacement parts coming directly form Ford ?

What do you mean by ..."Ford replacement parts coming directly form Ford ?"?
.
- Are you getting the parts thru a brick-and-mortar dealership parts counter?
- Are you getting the parts from fordparts.com?
- Are you getting the parts from a dealership's web site (e.g. TASCA)?
.
?????

The dealership ordered the parts from Ford Motor Company in Michigan.

I never had that problem with Ford parts. But I've had the same problem with GM parts in the past. Some of the large parts came with no packaging and they were all scuffed up.

Over 30+ years as a mech/tech 11 of which working as a dealer tech, I have seen some new parts be defective right out of the box but it was very infrequent. More so on the aftermarket side than the oem side.

No matter who you are as an automaker you should strive for top quality regardless of what your brand name is.
I have had 8 different Fords , 1 Dodge and 1 Chevy over the years and as you can see I have a pattern of loyalty to Ford.
I never owned a BMW or Porsche or any foreign made vehicle because I only bought American.
I always supported the American Auto making industry 100%.
If top quality is not a priority for Ford or any other American auto making brand then my next vehicle may come from BMW or Porsche.
