Default Is the Ford extended warranty worth it?

Ford keeps sending e-mails and letters to get me to purchase the extended service program. It is very expensive but seems to cover everything. Do you guys think it's worth the cost?

Answered over and over. "Is it worth the cost?" RARELY.

You have until 3 years or 36,000 miles to make your decision, so if you have no repairs (or small repairs) by then, decide wisely. And, if you must have it, buy from Flood Ford or Ziegler online.

Discussed over several times.

In short :
1-Wait until the last month possible before purchasing it & do not buy it at the dealership.
2-It's basically just an insurance. You might need it, you might not need it. Toss a coin! Keep in mind that if it's offered, it's because they make $ out of it. House always win.

However, there are ''indicators'' that can help in your decision:
Based on your experience with the vehicle since day 1, do you feel like you can trust it? If you've had lots of issues in the first years, chances are you'll have even more in the upcoming years. Vice versa...

Yeah, definitely do not buy from a dealer or from Ford directly.

Flood Ford or Zeigler Ford. Pretty much the cheapest online dealers. (within $25 of each other).

I paid $1,400 for my ESP to 100k miles when I bought my truck new. I had to have the cam phaser TSB done at 80k miles. I also had a Sirius radio signal problem as well. They billed just over $2,000 for the work to the warranty.

Definitely worth it for me!

Yup! Worth it for those who will need it, not worth it for those who won't! ha ha.

Paid a little over a $1,000.00 for mine and the policy paid out over $2,000.00 in warranty repairs. Worth it to me. Got mine with my credit union. That was the best price for me.

I've had many new car/trucks over the years, never had warranty claim. Bought warr. for my '99 F250LD never used it. Just lucky I guess. But I also know how to tighten a screw.
Now if I take the money I've saved I could pay for any repair. I still feel if it makes someone feel better to have it get it at the cheapest price possible and don't finance it. That makes it much more expensive than you think.
How about taking the money, put it into a savings plan and use it if needed for repair. Then if you don't use it over many years ouch! all this thinking head hurts...
