Ford ESP - I'm feeling like i was scamed
So I've got what I'm pretty certain is an exhaust manifold leak, ticking/hissing sound from passenger side of engine, mainly on accel and when pulling under load, or up hill. Goes away when i let off the gas.
So I'm thinking, good thing I bought that Extended Service Plan.. Wrong, that plan is a joke. Paid $1000 bucks to extended the bumper to bumper to 5yr/60K but it didn't extend the Powertrain any. The Powertrain is already a 5yr/60K covered item, so the 1000+ covered items under the ESP is not true, becuase those were already covered by the factory warranty... I was certain the dealer told me it extended the Bumper to Bumper and and Powertrain... Now they say sorry...
Arrgg. Thansk for letting me vent...

My ExtraSensory Perception tells me that any Extended Service Plan is a scam.
I find that if it lasts through the standard warranty, it rarely fails during the extended warranty.
Just my .02.

Your ESP needs recalibrating. Just my professional $0.02 and yes I bought one with my truck for just such an occurrence.
Cheap insurance.

Tell that to the several people that had their engines, transmissions, wiring harness, a/c compressor etc replaced under an ESP that came thru my shop alone much less world wide.

No doubt to need it and have is good.
I'm just sayin', I've never had it and never needed it.
I suppose my day will come.
Even so, I'd guess all that I have saved by not having it is more than what it will cost me if I need it and don't have it.

Old saying holds true,... "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it"
Same way I feel about guns.

I bought premium care. I've had so many issues (third brake light leak multiple time, satellite antenna leak, rear slider exploded...) with this truck I'm likely mis directing my frustration. Yes, as I read the contract it states what it covers, however I distinctly remember being told it added to the power train factory warranty, which my coverage does not.
As I stated, I'm venting frustration, take it for what it is. Lesson learned...
