Default Ford to drop Microsoft from SYNC

Sounds good to me. QNX is a whole different level of quality and smoothness. If you've ever used an Audi you know. Once again, Ford listening.

I've only known Sync for a year now and I can honestly say it's a major bowl of CRAP!!!!

My only real issue is it can be slow. But hey... that's Microsoft.
This will be a mayor improvement

I hope they do. I'm sick of the sync system... Has some major flaws.

I suppose I'm likely one of the very few that they would drop Microsoft and implement iOS in the car.

/sigh

IOS isn't ready. Apple claimed to have something coming, but I don't think it will take off. Usually these systems are branded by the manufacturer as opposed to an external company. Ie. UConnect(Chrysler), MyLink(GM), MBrace(Mercedes).
MFT was really the only system using a branded external company when you look at all the systems. So I don't think an IOS would ever take off.

'bout time. The system in our new Explorer has been nothing short of a train wreck.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Alan Mulally not getting what he wanted for MS in terms of the job offer?

This is all fine & dandy but the article says that it will use it in the future so, unless you buy a new vehicle, you're stuck with glorious SYNC.
