So even if you sit and take all of the 2013 numbers added up.....Ford still wins.

Yes, they also have those models.. for sale, but what you are saying has nothing to do with what I, or the other poster, was saying.

We are (well were, at least..) talking about 1/2 ton trucks I thought!?

If you compareFord's HALF TON truck sales figures (f150 only) to GM's half ton truck sales figures (chevy + gmc) - GM sold more trucks. Big deal?

People always bring up "F-series" sales figures in half-ton truck conversations, so I clarified what F-series actually meant, pretty striaght forward.

I don't know what point you're trying to make by bringing in every vehicle that could be considered a 'truck', into a conversation that had nothing to do with that.

I was comparing F150s to silverado 1500s and sierra 1500s
He chimed in and compared F-Series (150-750) to Silverados (1500-3500)

Now you're trying to compare F series to everytruckGMmakes.

Sorry, I don't to be rude, but it just does not work like that...
.. well it could, but it doesn't make any sense at all.

I don't understand why some people are taking it so hard.

The main thing these numbers say, when realizing that GM sells more half ton trucks than Ford, but Ford's F-Series outsells Gm's full truck line is the fact that Ford has an absolute LOCK on the commercial side of things - 450,550,650,750.

Even if you want to use the numbers from your chart - using only the FULL SIZE trucks, but all models offered above half ton, even though GM has 4 less heavy duty models to choose from -which puts them at a huge disadvantage in the commercial/heavy duty/fleet world, they only sold 63,061 less trucks than Ford F-series whole line.

The same way the GM half tons outsell the Ford half tons, I would imagine if you removed the 450, 550, 650 and 750s from the lineup and compared only the 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, GM would be outselling those as well.
I would have to imagine that Ford sells more than 63,061 total trucks between the 450, 550, 650 and 750s.

This isn't meant to be some subjective pissing match, it's just numbers -

I'm ashamed to be part of any group that acts the way that you're acting over something so trivial.

Some of you guys get a little carried away over brand loyalty.
So if I say, 'GM fanboys should put a gun to their head and pull the trigger,' would that be going too far?

You've probably never been minding your own business and had 2 'bros' in a lifted Silverado pull up next to you and actually try to instigate a fight simply because you're in a fixed up Ford that they don't like (true story). You've probably never encountered these bottom-of-the-cesspool ******ts who try to race you in heavy traffic and deliberately cut you off within half a foot simply because you're in a fixed up Ford and they're in a fixed up Government Motors truck (I see them pick on other Ford truck drivers too; it's not just me). You probably haven't spent 12 years dealing with that kind of behavior on a regular basis, or spent 12 years overhearing them baselessly talk trash on Ford as if it's their ****ing job to do so.. Maybe if you did, you'd understand where my hostility comes from.
After 2 decades of putting up with these tards who infest my city like giant cockroaches, I'll go on a Ford forum and say whatever I want to say about them.

It's annoying because every Ford hating, ****-talking d-bag on the planet lives here and drives a fixed up Silverado and thinks its the greatest thing on wheels. These queers with their modified 5.3's rev at my stock V6 Ranger and race me when I'm not even aware of their presence and then they act all proud that they beat me. ****ing dumbasses. This is exactly why I never wanted to own a fixed up Silverado, I would be ashamed to be part of that crowd of losers.

You know the best way to handle some idiots (in any make of vehicle) pulling up next to you trying to 'fight' you? Laugh.
Laugh because they are idiots. Don't let it ruin your day, laugh at them and smile and go about your day.

As for someone trying to race you, it takes two to race. Just ignore it.
If they fly past you then cut in front of you, slow down until you're at a safe following distance, take a few deep breathes (we all get road rage sometimes, I know) and try to laugh at their stupidity, don't become part of it.

How does it actually bother you hearing someone "trash talk" a billion dollar automaker? I mean come on.. seriously, no offense but grow up. How could anyone dumb enough to "trash talk" an automaker have the capacity to actually upset you?

I feel sorry for guys that "trash talk" automakers, they are simpletons with nothing of any substance to add to any real conversation about anything that matters in life.
Allowing idiots like that to bother you only brings you down to their level of stupidity. If those kind of people upset you, chances are, you're one of them.

I'm not saying I don't believe these stories, but at the same time you make your biased towards GM pretty obvious as well.

No, I have never experienced any of this stuff (brand loyalty based at least), probably because I'm a yankee, and we don't have those kind of retards trying to fight each other over vehicle brands up here, for the most part.
The whole brand loyalty thing seems to run much deeper in the south and midwest - mainly the south.

I live in one of the most densely populated states in the nation though, so I have run into more than my fair share of idiots while driving the last 13 years. Idiots on the road are certainly not limited to brand loyal rednecks in pickup trucks.

I can assure you though, even if I had to experience all these [sarcasm font] terrible stories of hatred and vehicle bigotry that you have been suffering from for 12 hard years [/sarcasm font], I wouldn't get all riled up and pissed off about a few idiots that have nothing better to do than "trash talk" inanimate objects - these are people that are not capable of upsetting me.

You feed off their stupidity and ignorance and stoop right down to their level when you start insulting large groups of people based on which vehicle they purchased, it makes you no better than the very people you claim to hate in the first place.

Yes, there's sarcasm everywhere in there, but don't get too upset. Take a step back and realize how ridiculously stupid the whole subject is and maybe you'll laugh at it, and yourself.

What about Ford and Dodge fanboys?

They're all the same people once you get past their brand of choice.
All equally ignorant simpletons
