Ford or Chevy Most Popular?

I'm going to be the guy that says it's all in how you look at it. When I was younger and driving my Dodge Neon I was into them; tuned them built an engine and trans and put a turbo on it. So, wherever I looked I only really noticed the Neons.
Then I got my Dodge Dakota, saw a lot of them.
Then I had a Chevy Z71 and I saw a lot of them.
Now I have an F-150. I see a lot more F-150's than I ever have. I don't think there really are more of them on the road; it's just now I notice them more because I have one.

update
On my ride today, (same ride) there were a couple trucks in drive ways that werent there yesterday. Each side picked up some its now 23/8 Ford is holding at near 3 to 1 in my area.
I think the majority of truck owners are loyal to the brand they drive no matter what the facts are. I know i even have some bias that prevents me from owning Chevy. I had very poor service from local Chevy dealers when we had a Chevy station wagon. Additionally when I would buy aftermarket parts back then for the Chevy I was told GM parts were not good enough to re-furbish and give a lifetime warranty like Ford parts were.
Ok, see now all the talk about poor service from Ford dealerships (I wonder how the Chevy service compares now) and I dont know if GM parts from AutoZone are improved as far as getting the warranty or not.........BUT, I have no desire to find out. So, the reasons I drive Ford may be out dated but they are still my reasons............even if it makes no sense.........
I like my F-150 and will keep it until the day she goes to the junk yard!

By the way, if you combine Chevy/GM - there were more of them sold in 2012 than F150s, if that even means anything, one way or the other.
343,186 F150s
369,686 Chevy/GMs
343,186 F150s
369,686 Chevy/GMs
Americans love their trucks. That was especially true in 2012, when U.S. buyers consumed nearly 2 million pickups. With a dominating lead of more than 200,000 units over runner-up Chevrolet Silverado, the Ford F-Series was America’s best-selling truck last year at 645,316 pickups sold. Though the Chevrolet Silverado, which moved 418,312 units in 2012, was massively outsold by the Ford F-Series, if you combine its total with the 157,185 sales of platform-mate and fourth-place finisher GMC Sierra, the gap is closed significantly. Filling the third place spot is the Ram Pickup with 293,363 units sold. Toyota’s truck contenders finished back-to-back in the sales race, with the midsize Tacoma placing fifth at 141,365 units sold, and the full-size Tundra landing in sixth at 101,621 sales.

I posted sales numbers from the half ton truck segment specifically - in which the GM trucks (GMC+Chevy combined) do in fact outsell the F150, for what that's worth.
The numbers you provided are for the "full size truck" segment across the board. F150-F750
Yes, I completely understand that your numbers include the 2500 & 3500 models.
Obviously a more fair comparison would be the Ford 150-350 versus GM 1500-3500.
The F-Series has 4 additional models to boost their sales numbers.
I'm not sure what you mean by the F-series 'nonsense', no one is saying that the F-series trucks don't sell the most.
I was trying to clear up the confusion many seem to have with understanding the difference between the "F-series" sales numbers versus the F-150.
Regardless, I think some people are taking my posts as baiting/stirring the pot or whatever.
I'm just trying to be objective about it.
Other than that, I don't care who sells the most trucks, even if Ford sold less than Nissan, I'd still have one.

Seriously man, they're just vehicles, lighten up, calm down.
I'm ashamed to be part of any group that acts the way that you're acting over something so trivial.
Keep in mind, owning the same make/model vehicle as another guy does not mean you have anything else in common with him. I constantly have to remind myself of this while reading posts like yours.
Some of you guys get a little carried away over brand loyalty.
It's a multibillion dollar company, they sold you a machine. Relax.

I go on various forums throughout my 3rd shift to keep my mind occupied and you wouldn't believe
the amount of retarded comments I see people throw out there just because they own X brand.

Gotta love America..Dont you just love how companies doc the books to make figures look better than what they are..I guess these figures should come with the important fine print disclosure saying what these numbers are including to reach them..All this says is the Big 3 still are the Big 3 in truck sales.
