Default "Ford / Chevy advertising / steel vs. aluminum bed / GENERAL discussion" thread

What say you?

Doesn't deter me...I remember with my 05 Tacoma and it's composite bed that people were fearful.

That said I wouldn't use the Fords bed without some forms of a liner.

The dweeb they have "hosting" these ads wouldn't know a piston from a fuel injector.

Plus who uses a truck bed like that without rhino lining or a bed liner? Dumb commercial.

GM is trying to sell some trucks with fear tatices but of course they don't want to talk about the rearend and transmission problems for the last 15 years. Oh, don't forget all the dash fires with the faulty blower motor resistors.

if you dump sharp stones that way your asking for a damaged bed, the tool box tho, didn't expect that. could that be why my dealer throws in a free spray in with every truck?

still happy with my purchase as i don't abuse it like that.

After seeing that commercial I'm trading my F150 in for a Chebby tomorrow!

Aluminum doesn't stretch the way steel does so this result is unsurprising. That said I'd never use my truck in that way, but even if I did I wouldn't do so without having a spray in bed liner of some sort. Spray in bed liners are incredibly durable and I've put that to the test many times on my previous truck.

Real people, not actors. lol
Paid real people to be specific.

Also, wonder how much they doctored the beds and results of that "demonstration".

And this is why I will not ever buy GM products. Congrats GM, your mudslinger tactics have backfired. Good job.

Best part is the GM dumbasses are going to aluminum soon so all the diarrhea coming out of their mouth will soon be hypocritical. If aluminum was so bad why are they going to it?

And I wonder what chevy will say when they catch up and start using aluminum.
