Love the flareside/stepside look. I prefer the look of 'em with an extended cab. The first truck I truly remember lusting after was a 79 Chevy K10 stepside...

For me, it all depends on how the cab/bed style match up.

I owned a '99 Ranger Scab Flareside 4x4, and have always thought the '93+ Rangers looked better with the Flareside, no matter if it was a Reg. or Scab model. Around the Denver Metro area, I'd guesstimate that roughly 20-25% of the Rangers are Flareside. There are a ton of them.

I also owned an '02 F150 Scab Flareside 4x4. I think the the 97-03 F150's looked much better in Flareside then the Styleside beds, again no matter if it was a Reg. or Scab model. Now I personally liked the Stylside better on the '96 and prior model F150s. And for the 04+ model F150s, I like the Styleside much better than the Flareside. Something about the 04+ Flareside I do not like. For the 96 and prior model F150s, I'd say maybe 3-5% were Flareside. For the 97-03 F150s I see many more Flaresides and would have to guess it'd be about 20% if not slightly higher of all these year F150s. For the 04+ model F150s, I'd say we're back down to another 3-5%, maybe a little higher but not by much. I rarely see one.

Now I dislike the Chevy Flareside, mostly the taillamp assembly, but the style does nothing for me. And the 1st Gen. Tundra Flareside was god awful! That thing looked like it had PT Cruiser taillamps and the flare was not apealling.

Just my 2 cents.

Ok since I started the topic, figure I should include a pic of mine

Sorry for the quality, but this was the only one I found on this computer

Also I think the reason why I love my bed is the look (Kind of reminds me of the old stepside beds of the 1950s and 1960s albet updated), I've loaded almost everything in this one that I used to in my ranger, plus can tow a lot more :-)

The guy who sold me this truck has been wanting to get me into another truck and even though I'm definitely keeping this one, my next one will have to be ordered as it will be a flareside also.

I just dont like the way they look. Your also talking about less bed room for hauling stuff for people who use their truck for hauling stuff. I think they look really cool on your old antique pickups in the 40's and 50's but the newer ones are ugly to me.

i dont mind the smaller bed on mine. its plenty big enough for me. i have hauled plywood and drywall (sitting flat in the bed), my quad, and full loads to the dump. it suits my needs perfect. i like mine because it give some shape to the truck. like i said before, im not a big fan of the 04+ but i have only seen one of them in person.
