Default Flaresides out there

Had a question can't find the answer on.

I'm a true fan of flaresides, however I've been other places and find they are rare in some places than others. I live in the south where I'd guess about 10% or better of the Ford trucks are flaresides.

I was curious, outside of the south, are they popular elsewhere and by how much in your area?

My old ranger was a flareside, I loved the way it looked, but hated the lack of space. I bought a standard bed when I got my f150

Up here in the north, its probably less than 10 percent. We have two 09 flarsides on our lot right now. Not a big fan of the 09 flareside Screw, but I do like 04-08 yellow Excab flareside. Those looked sweet. Im fifty fifty on them though.

IMO I am not a fan. I live here in the midwest, they are not that popular.

It really depends on the truck. For the most part, I only like flareside beds on regular cab trucks, and that goes for basically all makes and models. Something about the balance of the cab and the bed; the flareside works really well with a regular cab, but IMO, looks very unbalanced and off when paired with an extended or crew cab.

For example, I LOVED the 93-97 Ranger Splash in a regular cab, but hated the way the extended cab Splash looked. Just a personal preference thing I suppose.

I have lived in Maryland all my life and while I have seen flaresides here, I must say that they are not that common here. I personally do not prefer them, but as they say, "to each, his own."

I agree with Nagate. Mated to a regular cab, I think they look by far the best. But with an extended cab, looks lopsided. I have a 93 reg cab flareside and I've only ever seen one other in Ohio of my body style and that was on some highway out in the boonies.....

Which is one of the reasons I like my truck, slightly different. :-)

I love them. I've owned a '94 Ranger Splash, '97 F150 and now a '07 F150 all in the flairside trim. Oh, I'm in the South too. LOL...

I have only seen one or two near me that are '04+ bodystyles. One was a red FX4 Scab (real nice look for some reason).
