After reading about reliability issues/moving parts, I'm going back to my 1 speed bicycle. Way fewer moving parts than my 18 speed.

I'll just get off and walk it up the steep hills.

Love these threads.

This thread should be quietly closed, so someone else can start a new one in a few days, on the same topic.

Agreed techs aren't the best gauge of which you should buy. Fleet mechanics who work on both would be a better gauge. The few fleet mechanics I have seen chime in on threads like these say they would own either one. That it's basically personal choice.

Same old, same old.

I haven't seen anyone mention that the Gen 2 Eco is putting down 450/475 at the wheels tune only...

Notice the wink?

All fun aside, the only turbo I actually liked working on was attached to a 7.3 powerstroke diesel. I've worked on a few of the old Thunderbird turbo coupes in the past and they are one huge headache.

I know, just like poking fun as this is yet another completely useless thread on the subject.

I gotta say though, I upgraded the manifolds, turbo's, intercooler, intake and exhaust on my eco in 9 hours flat. From the time I shut it off to the time it was running again, heading out for a drive. Pretty easy platform to wrench on honestly. Spark plugs are a breeze.

I rather do both turbo's on this than the one on my 6.0. fighting that down-pipe is beyond frustrating.

OH SNAP! you had to remind me of the one thing I hated with a passion on the 7.3, that !$!@%$%^%^ downpipe!

The best way to work on those was with the chassis on the ground and the body in the air.
