I've got to do something with my PTMed grille, it's chipping, I'm thinking of buying this one,

Would anyone that has this grille, please take a look and see if the surround and grille can be separated?
I plan on PTMing the surround.

That looks like either a basic xl grille or an fx grille ready for paint, xl grille is one solid part, fx grille has the removable surround. 2013-2014

What you want is an fx grille. I had one like that with a painted surround from an fx which is how I got my grille as it sits. XLT will have the chrome bars.

Comparison pics of them before winding up with what I have now. Top right is the fx grille unchanged.

Great! That's what I'll do. I'm hoping to copy your grille eventually, if you don't mind. I've always liked what you did.
In the immediate future though, I'm thinking my chrome bumpers will look out of place with the black insert, so, thinking of having them wrapped in body colour.

On edit. I don't think I've ever that photo with the all black insert, it looked good. Possibly I won't match my bumpers. Wait and see eh?

 

Oh and here's the fx grille with the xlt surround, looks out of place, sold it and recouped nearly all the expenses of making the change.

LOL, I didn't know that! You're right, the XLT surround and the FX insert just doesn't look right.

 

I just sent an email to Tasca, asking exactly what that grille is for, and asking if someone could verify that is a two piece. We shall see.

 

Just looked at mine and it comes apart although my grille is painted also.

I think mine was painted by the previous owner since it was the oonly one I saw when I was looking that was.
All the rest seemed to be black plastic.
