Default Factory Tire Longevity?

How many miles have your factory set of tires lasted? I have about 40,000 miles on the truck and the tire tread is at least half. The tires are Goodyear Wranglers.

I switched out my Goodyear Wranglers at 66k, but the previous owner ran them under inflated; plenty of tread in the middle but worn out on the corners.

I had a 99 ranger that came with firestones that I ran for 72k. They were the same tire that was recalled back then however the tires that I had were not part of that recall. Those tires were also listed as 50,000 mile tires as well.

Lightbulb

Tire tread life (factory or otherwise) is too subjective and dependent upon driving style, proper inflation, condiition of suspension, vehicle load, etc., etc., etc..

MEANING: Your mileage may vary.

Rarely make it more than 30,000 miles on factory tires. But we live in high country and they are only maybe good enough for three winters. Always look forward to getting rid of the P series for LT tires. Much better handling with a lot more confidence in the replacement tires.

My truck came with Pirelli Scorpion ATR's. They made it to 50k miles, although they were a little scary in rain after 30k. Had a set of the same tires on my Frontier several years ago with the exact same experience.
