Factory remote start range

yes I have the app for my 17 xlt and it’s unlimited. Living in Pam springs the summer here is 120 degree plus. I’m not lying. So having the ability to start your car and get the AC going before I walk into it is a huge benefit. Getting this app was a MUST for me.

Save the Manuals!
Interesting tidbit on this feature is that it will work even if you don't have the remote start feature on your truck. My 2018 was a rather oddly equipped 301a XLT but it had the Sync 3 and Sync Connect options. I don't have the remote start button on the keyfob but I can start it from the app on my phone.

Replace your battery...Ford uses the bulk china batteries and for at least 2+ years my factory remote sucked!
I put a new good quality battery in it and now it works from like 250+ ft away.
Even a crappy battery will last years in these key fobs...

I'd say 50ft with the Fob, depending on what's in your way (concrete walls, houses, etc.). Try it. The fob is 2 way, it tells you if the start was successful or not.
FordPass will also provide remote start anywhere in the world through satellites, but it's not free. I have it but I don't use it much.

Isn't it free for 5 years?

My truck has the FoMoCo remote start, but it was added after so I have a separate FOB for just the remote start.
Wednesday night I parked in a large public lot, and when I was walking back to the truck, I started it from I'd say a good 400-450 feet away.
I said to my girl "you think it will work from this far?"
Sure enough, it started right up, I was impressed.
My FOB also gives me feedback if it successfully starts the car, and THAT is by far the best part.... no more listening carefully for the engine to start, or peeking out the window to try and see the headlights, haha.
