F150 XL/F250 XL same cost - discuss
It seems an F150 XL long bed single cab 4x4 with HDPP and max tow is the same price as an F250 XL long bed single cab 4x4 with the total truck and trailer camera package.
Why would you rather have the F150 with 3.5TT and 3.73 locker ?
Why would you rather have the F250 with 6.2 NA and 3.73 limited slip ?

yep, I wanted a twin turbo crew cab long box with fancy stripes to troll my friends with mega cab Cummins
I'm the envy of my friends when we go hunting now, quiet and powerful lol. It is so damn quiet and the suspension rides like a caddy compared to those diesel monsters.
But seriously I really love my truck.
I wouldn't buy any truck you described. They are regular cabs. I had one of those in my 20's. I'm good.
In my future I see a good SuV and a utility trailer. I'm done with trucks and camping. Its all about cabins now for me.

The 250 without question, more truck for the same money.

If I needed a heavy duty truck, it would be the 250.....If I planned to pull heavy a lot and/or thought I would get larger tires, I would get 4.30 gears, though.

IDK. That 6.2 is gonna use a lot of gas with the 3.73's. Old 6 speed auto also. I think the 6.2 is enough hoss with the 3.73's.

5th and 6th are overdrive. That helps gas mileage all it can for either ratio.
Gas mileage reports are usually very close for both ratios. However, many 3.73 owners say they wish they had gotten 4.30. I don't think I have ever read a 4.30 guy saying he wished he had gotten 3.73.
With a single cab lightly optioned truck, I would expect 12-14 out of either gear around town and 15-17 on the highway.

I would be happy with an average of 14. 14 is what my 3.slow Ranger gets back and forth to work and around town. Perspectives. I got 25 once in summer coming home from Indiana with a tailwind and cruise set never over 59 for 600 miles. If I got 25 highway with either my 5.0 or 3.5TT, I would have a permanent grin. 17 highway is better than my 3.5TT. My 5.0 can do 18 easily all highway.
