Default Washing in the Winter

Just curious how often do yall that live in the snowy states wash your truck during the winter. I like to try and wash my truck often as i can especially after the over use salt for the roads like they do here in Nebraska.

I go to the DIY carwash and blast the salt and crap off with the pressure wand about once a week, sometimes every other week. They have warm water in the winter.I don't use soap just blast off the salt. My best friend owns an auto detail shop so I use his wash bay 2 or 3 times during the winter and give it a real wash. As for my F150, I'm not ready to introduce her to road salt.

Not as often as I would like to. I try to wash it every other week because the roads are always such a mess it is just like burning a $10 bill. Plus in our area there are really nice car washes that cast $15 to $20 and that adds up fast and then crappy washes that cost $7-$10 and they don't clean anything off.

When I lived in PA I had access to a nice heated garage/carwash so it was literally every week. I wouldn't have done it that often if it wasn't so free and convenient lol. It was nice though because I had the cleanest truck on the road every winter lol. We'll see how the NC winter treats the truck this year...

When I lived up north, I would wash my vehicle 2 or 3 times a week. The DIY pressure washes (used to be 25-50 cents) - move fast and dry fast. I also would wash 'em in the driveway with a hot bucket of water (wash a section, dry and move to another section). I would even wash the slop off even when the roads where somewhat wet ( easier to get it off while wet and unfrozen then wait and try to get frozen junks off later).

I'm just outside of Chicago so salt's a huge issue here. When it gets too cold to wash weekly in my drive way without making an ice rink I wait for the weather to show a couple dry days in a row and head to gas city for the touch less wash. I get the basic. No need for anything crazy it'll only get dirty 20 minutes after leaving the wash.

whats this salting roads yall are talking about? lol i usually was mine right before it gets below freezing temps. and dont do it again till it warms up lol. although this past winter we did have a nice snowstorm for a week and they managed to salt a few roads. so i sprayed off the the undercarraige about once a week till all the salt/sand was off the roads.

I ran my ranger through the car wash about once a week, but my F-150 is a little too tall. I have a hot and cold mixing faucet in my garage for washing in the winter. As long as it's above freezing, I'll be spraying off the salt on a regular basis. No rust on it yet and I'm going to try to keep it that way.
