Not including the ECOBoost, which is what I want. If other MFG'S, has manual transmissions as an option with their V6 engines. Why can't Ford have an option with a manual transmission with the V6 ECOBoost engine? It's a V6! I'm not giving up and setteling for what ever they have on the lot.
thats because the ecoboost is not a base engine! you have to compare the ecoboost to the 5.3 and 5.7 not because of cylinders but because of out put. ( and ik the 5.3 isnt close. but closest they have)

That is for the heavy duty payload package only.

Don't have to worry about Rangers with manual transmissions anymore because it's discontinued. I was told the reason for no manual transmission trucks is because of low demand. Also on the F-150s fuel economy is about the same nowadays. Even the big rigs are going to automatic transmissions. My friend is a trucker for Fed-Ex and his new 2012 Kenworth has an auto in it. I like manuals too, but I'm afraid it's a thing of the past unless you buy a small economy car. By the way I work at a Ford dealership.

Ok, I understand that the ecoboost engine is not the base engine and its about the horse power rating. However, we are talking about a "V6"' vs a "V8". Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, GMC, Dodge, all have a manual transmission as an option with their "V6". Yes, Ford did this for technology advancment. I love Ford, all always have and always will. A benefit to the ecoboost engine is you can clam that your F150 has a V6, instead of a V8, which will cause you to save a few bucks in insurance. On the other side of the coin is GM, they had for decades been the leader of the big SUV "Surburban". Then Ford was tired of loosing out on the market and finally delievered the Expedition. Which gave GM very stiff competition. Is Ford going to be left out in the cold again with the manual transmission with a V6?

Aaaarrrrgggg......can anyone tell me of an aftermarket mfg. That sells an automatic transmission to a manual transmission kit for the 2012 -2013 F150? This gives a whole new meaning to "Have You Driven A Ford Lately".

Manual transmissions are a thing of the past on larger vehicles due to emission outputs at idle. I'd say in the next 5 year you will see the manual transmissions swapped out for automatics, as they are not as strong, and there is not a large enough demand for them.

Buy a new F150...put it in manual shift mode... and have at it. You can even make vrooooom noises with your mouth if you want while pushing the buttons to shift

Due to emissions that is incorrect. Cause on Ford's website you can get a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0 with a 5 speed or a 6 speed manual transmission. And as far as the strength of a manual transmission, I find that very hard to believe. Put a racing transmission in. Atleast you know it will be very durable. I much rather have an over kill than on under kill.
