Default F150 limp mode

I changed the air filter in my 2010 Ford F-150. The truck sat for a couple of hours. Was leaving to run to town and noticed a wrench symbol on the dash display. Gave it gas and realized it was stuttering like it was skipping. No issues with it until I changed the air filter. Any ideas on the issue

Some thoughts... and no mechanical skills to say they are the cause:
Airbox not closed/sealed properly.
Dirt/something got by and onto the MAF sensor
Did you use a dry or wet/oil type filter: Possible oil on MAF.

Only things that come to mind
