F150 EcoBoost Terrible Fuel Economy
Hey everyone j was hoping someone could lend some insight into an issue I'm having. My truck is averaging around 15mpg city which isn't too bad. But just today I drove 600 miles from Washington State to Montana all highway and averaged 12.5 ! Used cruise control most of the time and was running premium fuel just to give it the best possible scenario. How the heck can I get significantly worse on the freeway vs city? Please help.

You'll get more answers if you provide more info;
Year
Specific model
Miles
Pertinent history
Under warranty?
Start by getting her scanned. Stuff can be in there that won't throw a CE L.
For instance, I had a car with a bad coolant temp sensor. Showed on a scan only. Lowers gas mileage a bunch.

Cruise control does not deliver optimum fuel economy. You probably climbed a lot of hills. What was your average speed because nothing kills gas mileage more that high speeds.
Dirty air filter? Plugs not properly gaped. Load? Wind? Worn tires not inflated properly? Left the truck idling while you watered the bushes. Lot's of passing. Was this the computer or your calculations?

I was holding between 83 and 87mph for the last few hours of the trip. Could just the high speed be the root cause?
I guess I was just expecting a slight increase over my daily stop and go driving not a 3mph decrease.
