Is it possible to upgrade my 2016 F150 XLT cluster to an aftermarket all digital display cluster like pictured below? The first image is my current cluster and the second image is the cluster I purchased to replace my current one. Is that possible and will it work correctly?

 

Get a cluster from a higher trim from a 15-20. Those aftermarket clusters are junk and have been talked about on this forum.

 

Do they work though? I already purchased it and was told it was plug and play and that it was compatible with my truck.

If you already bought it then you could certainly try but there have been reports (eBay reviews) of incompatibilities with them and any tech support you may need is going to come from the Chinese sellers on eBay.

 

Like what type of incompatibilities are you referencing? The Chinese seller told me all I had to do was plug it in and enter in my truck mileage and everything else would work as usual.

 

the seller also accepts returns and has been very responsive.

 

Then you should return it and get an actual OEM cluster off of a higher trim 15-20 truck.

 

Well I don’t like the way that those look. I like the all digital clusters like the one that I purchased. And why should I return it if it works? You’re just assuming it is not going to work.

 

sounds like you’re mind is made up. why don’t you install it and then report back to this thread with short and long term reviews. that way others can learn from your experience/review.
