Angry F-150 Weaknesses

I've got a 2018 F-150 XLT. I THOUGHT I was buying quality like my last 3 brand new F-150's. Instead I'm finding that Ford has CHEAPENED the vehicle. Examples:
1. The oil pump begins to whine at 53-57 mph. in the transmission - there is NO cure.
2. The transmission now CLUNCKS when I back up, and shift to Drive. It's getting worse. I had Coldwater Story Ford check the drive - no problems, the mechanic said - "its in the transmission" and there's NO fix....be sure you have the extended warranty, drive it HARD until it breaks and then Ford will 'fix' it
3. Oil change - Ford puts out a coupon for $59 for an oil change....LIE - I paid $68 for the oil change. Shop supplies $5 - for one rag...ya right...
4. When changing the oil, they told me the 'protector' under the front of the truck and under the transmission where falling down. WHY - because Ford CHEAPENED these protectors and changed them from hard plastic to FELT....can you believe this...what a JOKE!!! Mechanic said its common to many new Ford trucks....they've 'cheapened' them for profit - obviously
5. Exhaust - in the winter months I have a developing OIL-Exhaust dripping from the exhaust right behind the headers. WHY - bc Ford engineers aren't concerned with leaking exhaust fumes and oil on to your garage floor as they are about profit. I've had two Ford dealers look at it and they both told me there's a HOLE in the exhaust (purposefully put there) for the exhaust & water to flow out onto your garage floor to keep this highly toxic mix from ending up in the catalectic converter. NICE - not!!

Is it time for a Toyota???????

$9 and felt versus plastic? Time to go to an F150 site and rant! Pretty funny. Thanks for the amusement. And I'm not even an F150 guy, I just have one. It is pretty solid though.

I've been a loyal fan of Ford for over 50 years, and these executives are screwing the dealers with cheapened trucks. This is the only issues with Ford as anyone who follows vehicles sees Ford cutting production and vehicles from its lineup. IF they made as good a vehicle as Toyota, Honda or Hyundai, they could recapture the markets. Look at their decisions with Lincoln. The smallest Lincoln - Corsair - has an excellent electronic dash, then the Nautilus - their dash is 5 years old!!! And then the big Navigator - the power steering and other Mexican parts goes out on many of their brand new cars - Like a Chevy - looks good on the outside, but the 'bones' of the cars are hollow, refried scrap.

There was never a cover on previous models that I'm aware of.
It's a 5+ year old truck, mechanical issues are going to show up. Possibly take it to another dealer for the issues?

Before you trash a manufacturer, might want to get another opinion on what's wrong.

And the hole in your exhaust is to let the moisture out as in not to rust out the pipes from the inside and the drop of oil isn't, it is carbon build up inside the pipes dripping out with the water.
Back to the let us go on a Ford truck site and Complain, or are you just a troll to bad mouth a brand so it comes up in searches?

Some are going after him for making his first posts a venting session as a new member,.. I understand how this may appear. However, please let it be. Let him vent. His experience sounds legit. People choose different avenues to vent. Some of that stuff mentioned would be upsetting.

I swore to always try to be objective as possible. As much as I like Ford and my 2016 has been a great vehicle, Ford definitely has been having quality issues. Since the mid to late 2010s, Ford publicly announced multiple initiatives in earnings calls to increase revenue, profitability and grow shareholder value. Cost cutting was a part of that equation. In some ways it has caught up to them as they have become the #1 automaker for recalls in 2021 and 2022.

Ford CEO Jim Farley has acknowledged Ford's quality is a big problem and needs to be fixed. There is truth to various complaints.

I do not think anyone fully believes there is "no quality" in the new trucks. However, It is quite easy to have doubts when there are noticeable misses. I have no real complaints about my truck other then a few minor things that a picky individual like myself would notice. Overall, a great vehicle.

I posted the screenshots in support of the original poster because people should not try to delegitimize a person's experience when there have been ongoing issues.

Your phrase is like that common generational phrase "they don't build them like they use to" lol.
