Excellent choice! Can't go wrong with a Lariat Ecoboost. Congrads and enjoy it! You and your family/friends will realize how nice, comfy, and useful this truck is.

3.55 electronic locking. I honestly don't know much about gear ratios. So I went with what was recommended. A mechanic friend of mine agreed with it. So I went with it! I do minimal amounts of towing. And when I do tow, it's light loads. I wanted the pickup for the occasional dump run, helping a friend move a fridge...stuff like that.

Only not great thing about my F-150: It's a PITA to park in tight parking garages...
Bright side: Get a lot more cardio in than my last car.

Just traded my 2010 TRD DBL cab in for a f150 5.0 XLT SuperCab.
Here are the reasons I pitched to the wife:
AC/Heater are weak on the Tyco
Seating for 5 is very tight and pray that all the rear passengers are small. f150 will seat 6 with 5 adults I think.
nearly the same gas mileage expected ~18 mpg
more interior space.
My driving comfort was never great in the Tyco as the seats seemed smallish and narrow on the can.
bed was super short at 5' f150 not much longer at 5.5' but it should be wider.
I am a bit afraid of what I just got and will be bringing home tomorrow for these few reasons. Maybe someone can put me at ease.
4x4 only has one mode that I saw with 4x4 high and low where the tyco had lockers, down hill assist and anti-slip traction control.
With the Tyco after hitting past 65-70 on the freeway mpg went to the crapper. At 75 - 80 mph for me I felt I was pushing to hard on longer drives.
Tyco was great in the snow. We will see with the f150
Tyco was easy to park. F150 felt much bigger.
Concerned about the radio or speakers in the f150. I replaced the speakers and radio in my Tyco due to really crappy speakers. I really just like some noise but the Tyco would not even do that. I hope that I can survive with the stock radio and maybe later do aftermarket speakers.
I got the 5.0 engine due to not wanting turbos to go out ever. I just hope that it is reliable to drive.
I have had Toyota's for so long now that this is the first domestic badge that I will own in the past 15 years. The controls on my test drive seemed placed different. I loved the space and the year end clearance deals made it possible to afford. Excited but apprehensive at the same time. I have dreamed of full sized pickup for a long time and hope this fits the bill. Find out tomorrow.

Just upgraded from a 2000 lariat supercab to a 2014 SuperCrew and glad I did. Contemplated on the tacoma double cab but the seat height couldn't adjust and I have growing boys. The wife insisted on the f150 and I'm so glad I followed her advice. Enjoy the F150.

I don't have one single bad thing to say about the Toyota. My first truck was a Tacoma. It was a great LITTLE truck. I was also 18yrs old. Now that I am grown(kinda) and have a small family, even a 4 door taco wouldn't do. So it's all about size for me. I do think they are by far the most attractive mid size pickup made, and they do look great lifted. Also resale is better on it, than any truck and damn near car made. Just for my needs it wouldn't do.

I bought a new Tacoma extended cab V6 4x4 5 speed in 2003. Thought it would get much better gas mileage than the full size trucks back then. It got around 16 in town and best I ever got was 20 on the highway. It would pull my Bass Tracker boat OK...but just OK. It would grunt and struggle going up a hill, and I would have to downshift to 3rd on any long grade pulling the boat.
Bear in mind that 2003 was the last year for the "smaller" Tacoma. In 2004 the Tacoma was considerably bigger...but is still a small truck compared to the F150.
Back in Feb of this year...I decided that I wanted a bigger truck. My Tacoma only had 75K miles and nothing wrong with it...other than the size. Plus the fact that you could pretty much feel every gravel in the road you ran over.
So I traded my Tacoma in on my '13 F150 XLT Screw 4x4. NIGHT AND DAY difference in ride and room. The F150 rides better than the wife's Lincoln town car and has more room. The console in the Tacoma was about 6" wide...the F150 probably 12". Gas mileage in town with the F15 is not as good (13-14)...but last short trip on the hwy showed 21.9 in the F150...better than I EVER got in the V6 Tacoma...plus the F150 pulls my boat like it's not even back there.
Personally I don't think I would ever opt for the 3.7L over the 5.0 V8. The V8 doesn't have to work as hard as the V6 to do the same amount of "work"...and will have much more power when needed. The 3.5L EB is proven to have better HP and torque...but I still went with the 5.0L. JMHO.
Looks like you've got yourself a very nice truck though. Beautiful and elegant looking . Enjoy your new ride...I sure am...!

I guess this is the "I ditched my taco" thread so I'll join in. I recently traded in my 2005 Tacoma Double cab 4x4 which I bought new. It had 95,000 miles on it and I got 13,000 trade in from the dealer so I have no real complaints about the resale value. The reliability on the other hand is a different story. I had to dump 3k into rebuilding the transmission when it started going out at about 90,000 miles. The main reason for upgrading to my 2011 Lariat Super Crew 4x4 was the third addition coming to my family this coming spring with the resulting need for a much bigger back seat. I'm pretty happy with the truck so far but there's now an issue with the A/C. It only blows heat out of the front passenger side vents, if it didn't have heated seats I'd be screwed. The used dealer I bought it from said it's still covered under the original Ford warranty, for a little while longer anyways. Does anybody know what the original warranty would have been. The truck currently has 32,000+ miles on it.
