F 150 atlas

The turn on time can be thought of in distance. When the first LED tail lights showed up on Cadillacs, they illuminated something like 100' faster than standard bulbs at 60mph. Don't quote me on those numbers, but you get the idea.

Proudly Rockin the XL!
I generally like the Atlas, and would love to see a lot of its features make it into the next gen F-150...but that being said, I'm kind of afraid to see what the price will end up being for a "middle-of-the-road" F-150 once the new generation is out. Right now, a reasonably optioned '13 XLT 4x4 SuperCab will cost you well over $30k, then even with maximum rebates and haggling you're probably looking at high $20s, and since nothing automotive related gets cheaper, what's it gonna become? Over $40k MSRP for an average 4x4 XLT, end up paying mid-$30s?

At least they show they care about changing and keeping things fresh...GM had this big unveil a few weeks ago and they hardly changed a thing and now they just look lazy. The only thing I can find that resembles the "old" F150 is the wheel arches...I do see the Toyota tho. It looks like a Tundra and F350 had a love child lol
PS those LED headlights are sooooo purdy

It's a concept, gentlemen. Take a closer look at some of the details that will probable translate to the next gen and quite frankly, it looks pretty cool.
I like the headlights, I also doubt that the new truck will have such a huge grill...that may make it way to the 250. Plus, new or significantly refined engines...more power, better MPG. Hell, what's not to like? I'm excited to see how it will be. I think it'll be, stylistically a blending of the Atlas and the current gen. Quite frankly, I think the Atlas looks bad ***...like a new Raptor, really. Put a 6.2 DI in that thing and get the hell out of the way.

The Atlas is a concept, concepts are always extreme, they're designed to grab the public's attention. They will never mass produce it as you saw it, it would cost them too much money and they'd never sell any cause they'd have to pass the cost onto the purchaser...Ford wants to sell trucks, they're good at it, it would get changed a lot for production, but the major styling ques will all still be there. All that fancy **** you see on it, will possibly be options for that year's models (ie. the roof rack tail gate extension and huge nav screen on the dash) but when Ford is done with the production model, I can promise it'll be simple enough that the everyday Joe like me can afford one..plus if Ford keeps up with the trend they're on, they'll have tons of different models and configurations to chose from.
Personally, It was love at first sight for me! I think it looks bad ***! The current model I can say I really only "love" in the FX4 and Raptor, the other models don't really do much for me.. I need my '06 to hold out a few more years and I'll be eyeing one of those up when they hit the showroom floors.

I was at the show today and thought it looked pretty good. Because it's a concept you can't get in it, but still was nice. Overall, the Ford booth looked to be busier than almost everything except the Corvette booth.
On the other hand, I was surprised that you couldn't sit in the 2014 Chevy or GM pickups. They were all behind a glass barrier.

Ford is good at putting concepts into production quickly-the '97 F150 was a concept truck and when it went into production it was pretty true to form.
I don't know if I care for the Altas name though...

If a Ford Super Duty and a Dodge Ram screwed each other, the result would be the front end of the Atlas. At the moment, I don't care for its looks. Most of it is alright, but I'm not liking the front end.

Although that's probably the only thing that would make me trade my current truck in. It's not going to happen. A twin turbo 5.0 will get like 12MPG on a good day.
That truck wouldn't be CAFE friendly. Damn environment.
