I have a stock 2008 F150 Super Crew 4x4. Today I took it in to have a ProComp 3 inch leveling kit installed along with 17 inch ProComp Series 6031 wheels with 33 inch Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3's.


This is how my truck looked before the kit. I will post the after pics as soon as I pick up my truck. Which should be done tonight.


I hope it turns out the way I expect it to.

amazing difference, and your truck looks fantastic now. Just out of curiosity, is this a true "3" leveling kit"? Or is it an actual "lift kit"? I'm wondering how your CV angles are up front, and the geometry of your UCA/LCA if it's just spacers being used in lieu of any drop-brackets to actually lower the front suspension components and extend the length of your steering knuckles.

Wiggum, it's a 3" strut spacer that just levels out the front with the back. According to Pro Comp there should be no change in the factory ride. from what I can tell the geometry of the UCA/LCA haven't changed.

if the only thing done up front is a 3" spacer above your struts, then your factory geometry is most definitely changed. You have eliminated 3" of down travel from your front end ... your upper control arm is now angled down a bit to allow for that 3" difference in height (unless they added a 3" longer steering knuckle) which would keep your UCA very close to original factory geometry. Your front drive shafts are now angled down a bit more too which affects the CV joints ...

your factory ride may very well be quite the same on normal roads, but trust me when I tell you that your down-travel is now limited.

I'm not trying to scare your or whatever about it ... ppl do 2.5" and 3" "levels" all the time ... but there are possible issues that come into play the higher you go with a "level" kit.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I'm new to the modifying world so my knowledge is limited. that's why I joined the forum to learn from more experienced truckers. I use my truck mostly in the winter to go to the snow. Not much off-roading. Although I wanted to try a little this summer.
there's an off-road park near me with trails ranging from easy to extreme.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on me taking it on some of the easy to moderate trails

nothing wrong at all with going a bit "crazy" off road with your truck ... just don't try to jump it 50ft thru the air ...
