Exhaust
What is the best sounding dual exhaust for the money. Can't really see spending 1200 on exhaust. Looking for something comparable to the borla ATAK. Was wondering if I could get just the muffler and use regular pipe from exhaust shop.

I did a Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 Dual outs for $500 and it sounds really good. I think $1200 is a little over kill.

I just ordered a Flowmaster Super 50 myself, using it with pipes from an ebay Flowmaster American Thunder knockoff dual system. Together I have about $500 in it (including the resonator I ordered).
I originally tried that system with a Jones maxflow muffler (Magnaflow knockoff) and no resonator, but I didn't like the sound and it had some bad drone at 1800 RPM. Hoping the Super 50 works out, I want something mellow.
BTW- if you know a good muffler shop to do the pipes for you, the mufflers really aren't THAT much. Even Borla's SI/DO mufflers are only around $140-150 at Summit.

Don't want to bash your thread, but the cheaper you will go, the cheaper sound you will get... Plus, you might end up with drone, which is annoying as hell. Basic mods would be to put an aftermarket muffler or remove the resonator. Either way, a full exhaust will always be better as it is engineered and optimised from the cat to the muffler.

If you want to avoid drone, KEEP YOUR RESONATOR! Yes you can do strictly a muffler swap to save money, that's what I did. Cut out the factory muffler and welded in a Magnaflow muffler, cost me $160. It sounds awesome, with pretty much zero drone. It is a tad loud for me on the highway when my truck downshifts into 5th, but the other 95% of the time on the highway when it's in 6th, it sounds pretty much stock. I don't see the point of spending $700 on a resonator back set up, when a muffler swap is pretty much the exact same thing, at least to me.

Get what you pay for, usually in sound and especially material. Hard to find someone that hates their Borla right?
$300 aluminized systems will rust out much quicker. Most of the $700+ systems use T304 steel on at least major components if not the entire system.
Variety of ways to enhance look and sound like some mentioned here and elsewhere already. The 5.0 especially can sound really awesome compared to stock.
