ok its official I orders some coax and a mount for my 102" whip I plan on mounting it to the passenger side rear bumper and securing it to the roof gutter with one of them clips i figured i will need to keep it low while driving around town i don't wan't to loose it on a phone line or something
i have a swr metier but how would i tune it? i guess i would have to snip it down some if its not already good.

also how can i supe up my tired old cobra 19 unit? just a simple peak and tune how to would be cool. i can build computers so wiring diagrams are my best friend

Ok, your worried about losing your antenna. I run mine 24/7 mounted on the very top middle of my bed rail next to the cab and I have been thought very tight, low places. I will get a picture if you want some. As for the 19, I have always been told theres not a lot you can do to them but that might be wrong.

Or Michigan bat whacker. for some reason fruit bats in my area refuse to leave mine alone.

Collector, One of the reasons some don't like the 102 is because of the 6" spring they are mounted on and at road speed they will lay down on you. I went this route. http://www.worldwidedx.com/cb-antenn...nny-riser.html I'll try to attach pics incase you can't see them without being a member. If you don't like that google "Gunny riser" for a solid 6" threaded aluminum shaft or go with a solid 108" whip available here http://www.mfjenterprises.com/Produc...uctid=MFJ-1966

Right now I've got a Stryker 447 thats putting out about 60 watts with a 102" whip. I've got Midnight Special 500 that I need to install. Once I get that hooked up I'll be running 550-600 watts. Not to bad for a mobile station.

I need to get that amp hooked up so I can get out and talk a little. The damn thing has been collecting dust for months.

Here's a cleaner version of a 6" riser for those interested with a 102".

I'm interested in the whole Copper tape thing. You used the tape itself as a dipole or what? As for the Gunny Pucks products. They are very very nice.
Here's the riser I won from him:

And here's the corona ball I won from him:

^Care to explain the corona ball? I've searched before but I couldn't find a clear answer to what they actually do. Any kind of performance gains?
