ESP/warranty causing delays in repairs?
I have owned my truck for 2 months. Had it towed to Ford dealer a week ago for scheduled appointment. Took 2 days to diagnose problem (IWEs), 2-3 days to get approval from warranty company. Just called and said they broke a valve during repair, have to order part, now won’t have truck back until maybe Monday. That’s almost 2 weeks to repair a common problem.
Service department blaming it on warranty company, says they take too long to approve claims. I have had extended warranty plans on every vehicle I’ve owned (4) and have NEVER had this problem and never had a vehicle in the shop this long. Is this a thing now? Anyone else with similar experiences? I am extremely frustrated and trying to figure out if I’m being strung along or if this is just the new norm....

Forget it if it was a 3rd party warranty
Ugh. Thank you for the info. It’s been a while since I had repairs done with a warranty, this is insane. Can’t believe things will be delayed another 2 days over a $30 valve! At least it’s not just me-I haven’t worked with this dealership before and I didn’t know if it was them or what.

I read and re-read this post, and cannot find any reference by the OP that he is getting the runaround from Ford with a FORD ESP.
If the "warranty company" is the problem, that sounds like it is not a Ford ESP. If so, the Ford dealership service department is not to blame.
How about some clarification ?
