Can you put a 1973 f150 truck engine into a 1996 f150 truck?

I suppose you could do whatever you wanted, but I would expect major modifications. You may need a good fabricator to make one off engine mounts and whatnot. Anything can be done. Depending on fabrication costs and material availability, the cost may be prohibitive.

The electrical system could be another major issue.

depends on whats in the 73, its most likely a 360 or 390, in which case you would need the transmission as well, and different engine mounts. plus it would obviously be carbed. if it has a 302 or 300, the swap wouldnt be too difficult, but still plenty of work

Why have we recently gotten a large influx of stupid motor swap questions lately?

You can put about any engine in there, the work involved in doing it is another thing.
