Well I'm back totaled my 01 f150 months back and have been trying a little Honda since! Well since I got rid of the money hungry ex gf I'm in the market for a new truck and have been looking at the eco boost. I want to know as far as mpg real vs. Claimed. And performance compared to a v8.

Forget the "eco" part of the engine name.

Real world MPG is about the same as a 5.0L
Price is about $1000 more up front

Focus on the "boost" part of the name.
More torque, low end torque especially.
I love how quiet it is in my truck.

IMHO a more fun to drive truck.

Like Ed said, don't worry about the mpg's. I've owned a 3.7L, a 5.0L, and from what I read about the EB's there ain't a gnat's breath of difference between the three. Focus on what you want out of your new truck, drive a few, and listen to your gut. You'll get the one that's suits you in the end. Good luck on your decision.

Well as far as after market exhaust anybody ran one on the eco boost and is it throaty like the 5.0?

u will not get the throaty sound from a v6 like a v8, never.
