Default Ecoboost mileage discrepancy

Just bought a new 2011 F-150 Ecoboost FX4... I'm curious about the posted mileage. Online and on TV I see 16/22 yet the window sticker says 15/21. Any idea what that's all about? Anything to do with the FX4 package?

Ford is more than likely advertising the 2wd truck and the Fx4 is a 4wd bring the MPG on the sticker down.

Bingo!
I just saw that new ad where they interview some customer, and they flashed the 22 mpg at the bottom. With my DVR I paused it and it was 22 mpg, 2-wheel drive.

Can I have you're 4x4? Since you don't seem to know what the fx4 package is? I could really use a 4x4 with a locker

Thats like any car though, they'll say "Estimated 22 MPG Highway" but what they don't tell you is in the fine print, its a 2wd regular cab, short bed, with the AC turned off, on a totally flat test track at 55mph...pretty much IDEAL driving conditions...

Seriously? Looks like you spend more time on this forum than you do in your truck. Get a life D Bag.

It's not quite that bad lol. These trucks will get 22mpg driving 70. Hills don't seem to make much of a difference either. Now curves are a different story.

You're right that hills don't make much difference, nor does moderate towing.

Had my Ecoboost (SuperCrew, 2wd, 3.15 LSD, 18" wheels) for a few weeks now with a real world average of 11.7 L/100km (conversion 21mpg), yesterday took it out for a 300km run pulling a 2500 lb curb weight Car Hauler (9900 lb GVR) and in mixed driving I turned out 11.3L/100km (conversion is still at 21 mpg), actually the mileage is a little better due to a little more cruising but non the less the terrain has hills, gearing down to 4th at times, but absolutely flawless pulling.

I'd say the window stickers aren't unattainable, rather I'd say they are very real from my experience, and my Ecoboost isn't even broken in.

I've only been in my truck once in the last 4 months, but I'm on here everyday. Does that make me a Dbag?
