Pin Stripping and "4x4" decal
Noob here so be patient with me.
New owner of a black F150 crew cab 4x4. I want to remove the pin stripping and "4x4" decals. Does anyone on the forum have experience doing this and can you offer any suggestions on how to do this?
Is it as simple as just peeling off? Want to keep my new truck looking good and concerned that removing the pin stripping and "4x4" decal may leave a residue or pieces of the stickers.
Thanks for your anticipated suggestions.

I hit mine with a heat gun for a couple seconds just to warm up then sticker came right off. Worked for the dealer sticker too. This was in december when pretty cold out. Just don't let paint get too hot or your screwed!

Having said that, if its a newer truck. Let it sit in the sun for a bit and I recommend a hairdryer over a heat gun, again, be careful not to burn the paint. Once you get an edge up, pull it up using the hairdryer to blow in between the peeled edge and the adhered edge on the paint. Work it slowly and consistently.
I would not use Windex on your paint. Try using Simple Green or a very diluted decreaser no remove the remainder of the glue. Once that is done, be sure to apply a good wax on this area.

I see you are the new owner, but how old is the truck? If its older than say 10 years or so and the paint is in rough shape, you may want to reconsider as the paint under the decals will be starkly different.

Simple Green sounds like it should work, and your truck has never been waxed under the decal, has it? X2 on the wax

Pin Stripe is off; although, it did leave a sticky residue. I'm sure a little elbow grease will remove the residue. Any suggestions an a chemical/cleaner/compound that would help remove the residue and not damage my paint?

Appreciate your input. Thanks

After removing the stickers, I used goof-off to remove the adhesive residue (on new paint), followed by soap and water wash, and wax. Worked perfectly.
