Guess that means I'm just lucky. Maybe it's the ying and yang of ford lol. I had an '08 ranger get up to 125k miles - didn't even have a hiccup...never even changed the battery! Naturally, the F150 has to make the folks at ford seem like mortals I guess.

She's over at the shop AGAIN today for the 3rd time. To boot, the friggin passenger door lock just stopped working. Guess I got one built on a monday or friday

And ymeski56 LMAO at that avatar!

New to this forum and current GM owner, so don't flame me! I need to replace my 12 year old GMC, and GM is out of the question. Tundra = ugly, and I don't care how reliable they are (or think they are). Toyota is marking them down $10,000 in some instances, which tells you they are having a problem selling them. That markdown must be unprecedented with Toyota. I don't care for Nissan, and not a Dodge fan.

See article below. I'm debating on the ecoboost or the 302. I really want the ecoboost, so hopefully this article will draw some attention to the problem. If they come up with a credible fix, I'm buying one!

BTW, for all the Ford owners dismayed at the slow reaction to this issue from FoMoCo, I can say from 1st hand experience that GM has been practicing the same denial tactics for quite some time. Hell, they even completely redesign their truck and the same problems from the 1999-2007 model year carry over! Oh, and produce a few new problems along the way.

I filed a Lemon Law Claim against them here in Connecticut and they offered to BUY IT BACK for the Full Price that I Paid plus any Accessories that I left on the Truck.
I had the Misfire and Loss of Power and the Dealer couldn't find the Problem when they had it in the Shop each time I complained about it.
They told me if it continued to bring it back to them with a "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT".
One Cold and Drizzly Morning on the way to work at 0500 AM the Shuddering and Misfiring started again and I kept my Foot MATTED on the Pedal and eventually "BLEW THE MOTOR".
I called the Dealer and told them I had a "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" Now for them!!!!!!!!!!!
All of this over a "BAD COIL ON #2 Cylinder" after all of the other TSB's were addressed. They eventually found the "BAD COIL" after I had the "Intercooler, Deflector and Re-Flash TSB done and still had the "Misfiring Issue"
The Mechanic never drove the Truck at "Wide Open Throttle" like I told them was when the Issue always happened.
They Installed a "Short Block" and Replaced the #2 Coil and the Truck Runs Great Now.
I Ordered a 2013 with the 5.0 V-8 and they are buying the 2012 EcoBoost Back.

That cost them a LOT OF MONEY over a BAD COIL PACK and now I have a NEW 2013 TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand AT ALL how Ford's solution to this problem (putting on an IC with less HP and torque) solves the problem - now I have an engine with less capacity than I was told and paid for.

Why can't they design an intercooler that just works? this is a multi billion dollar company!!!!

I had the IC swapped out two weeks ago and the truck runs great. No issues. Thanks Ford!

For the record, I talked to my service manager and he said he's had 3 local ecoboosts with the intercooler misfire come in. None of them have had issues ever since they got the new intercooler. All of this seems fishy to me
