I am not sure if the problem here is rain and/or humidity but I bought a 13 fx2 eco in january and just drove it 730 miles last weekend through some VERY HEAVY downpours and had no issues whatsoever. The truck has only 3300 miles (mostly weekend driver) but have had no issues with power at all. This was the first time I got into rain this hard with the truck but I was on the interstate at the time doing 30mph for several miles twice and no issue. So far the only issue with rain is when the road is wet you can floor it at 35mph and the rear tires will break loose. Had to throw that in. Hope everyone has a nice holiday.

Oh and one more thing. I got between 20.5 and 21 mpgs on 2 tanks and this included driving in mountains and stop and go. I figured the gas mileage, not the truck.

I have now had it happen once, a humid rainy day while pulling a lightly loaded cargo trailer I was merging onto an interstate when with no warning I had no power. I moved over to the emergency lane to allow a big rig to roll on by. Kind of a scary thing when you want the power and it dies away quick. I'm do for a service in about 600 miles, I will be inquiring about this issue. It's only happened once to me so far, but this one time was enough!

Default Well, this doesn't sound good!!

Came on forum today to seek info on why I have gone through a long problem weekend with my 12 F150 EB, with 18K miles. Driving through Texas hill country this weekend after driving through rain all the way down from Dallas. When I stomped the gas, I got the engine cut-out and then the check engine light. Of course, hit the side of the road to stop and diagnose for a while to confirm it was OK to continue driving. Not a good thing on holiday weekend Saturday and 300 miles from home. Found a great guy at an Auto Zone in Fredericksburg who ran a code reader for me and told me it had to do with the rain, some standing water on road, and a known problem with the turbo boost engines.

He told me reader showed it mad miss-fired on three cylinders, but was just sensor related. Truck seems to have run fine the rest of weekend, but have stayed off the gas pedal as much as possible. I'm concerned that he mentions possible moisture in the heads, suggested running some additive through the tank. The posts here indicate other problems, but not real clear on what the central issue is. Anyone want to take a shot at posting a clear summary that non mech folks like myself can understand?

Need to get this in to my dealer with as much ammo and understanding as I can carry with me.

Thanks

if it was 5% thats 500... then 300 of them come on chat boards and bitch .. so seems like a bigger issue then it is ..

i dont wish problems on people ..
and i am sure ford is fixing it .. but odds are odds.. NO ONE not even lamborghini or ferrari do it 100% perfect

what are dodge errors .. .lol 15%?

That markdown must be unprecedented with Toyota. I don't care for Nissan, and not a Dodge fan.

See article below. I'm debating on the ecoboost or the 302. I really want the ecoboost, so hopefully this article will draw some attention to the problem. If they come up with a credible fix, I'm buying one!

BTW, for all the Ford owners dismayed at the slow reaction to this issue from FoMoCo, I can say from 1st hand experience that GM has been practicing the same denial tactics for quite some time. Hell, they even completely redesign their truck and the same problems from the 1999-2007 model year carry over! Oh, and produce a few new problems along the way.

I have been a lifetime GMC HD truck owner until my new 2011 F150 FX4 SuperCrew 6.5 box Ecoboost.
No regrets. The truck is an economical half ton empty and around town. I is a freak of engineering while towing, what a powerhouse. No more V8 gasers for me.
Is the truck perfect, no. I notices it is a half ton with a HD truck like powerplant. That showed me that while towing the suspension showed weakness by allowing axle wrap to occur under hard acceleration from a stop while towing a heavy trailer, resulting in a shudder in the drive train thru the lower gears under 20mph. Not a big deal but annoying. I solved it myself with an extra leaf spring that shouldn`t have been needed with proper engineering.
But by far the most comfortable towing, long distance travel, quiet, spacious 1/2 ton on the road as far as I and my passengers opinions.
Not a single hiccup with my motor for 2 1/2 years 45,000kms, in B.C. coastal weather.

Default 2016 ecoboost king ranch engine shutting off

Hello i have a 2016 Ford F150 ecoboost and have had problems in the year ive had it. 1) already had to replace exhaust manifold, all bolts and gaskets. Due to one bolt breaking leading to horrible sounds to be found. That was over $3,000 to fix. Now the truck is randomly shutting off and all lights are coming on. Im talking about going 25mph or 80mph it shuts off without warning. All you can do is stop which is extremely dangerous with people behind you or on sides of you. The following information youtube shows symptoms. Has anyone have any idea whats going on? Spent over $60,000 for truck noone can even fix. Thanks!

OMG. Talk about a zombie resurrection! This is a 5 year old thread. How did you even find it? The EB engines folks were talking about in 2013 were Gen 1 motors. Yours is the Gen 2 EB. Sounds like you bought a used lemon...sell it, take your lumps and move on.
