Default Ecoboost = good gas mileage ?

Does anyone have real world experience with gas mileage and the Ecoboost motor ?
I ordered my 2012 FX4 with the Ecoboost for the claimed better mileage , and for its towing capability.
I've seen multiple statements online where people say their Ecoboost gets worse mileage than the big v8. ( slightly disturbing )

Anyone with Eco- experience ? I'd like to hear it from the horses mouth. ( not that I'm calling anyone a horse lol ) Thanks!

There are hundreds if not near thousand threads out there with MPG data on the EB. Go to the 09 section or the 11+ motor section and you will find more info than you know what to do with.

Yeah , well , the search portion of this site won't work for me. I keep getting a server error. That's why I'm asking a question that may have been answered many times before.

So if anybody can say from experience , I'm all ears !!

The search sucks *****. I know that. What I get is 16 liters per 100 km. that's been over 8000km. Lots of city driving a little for highways and lots for warming up cuz of Canada winter haha u do the conversion. I love my truck n te power n gas mileage makes me happy

I know 4 guys that have the EB and all 4 get different mileage and all 4's mileage is below what is advertised..but you know what? none of them complain because they are having way too much fun to complain...

Lot's of power, I wonder how they will stand up to long term use...?

Geesh , I read some of the posts off that link. Now I've got something else to worry about .........
I ordered 3:73 gears , because I will 2X a month pull a camper. Now I'm thinking I should have gotten 3:55 gears. - I dont know.

There's a little more pressure when you order a vehicle. I'm stuck with my 3:73 decision. Perhaps I should stay away from the forum. ( for sanity sake )

I have a 2012 ecoboost and it has 3.73 and I have 14000km on it I average 17 mpg empty but compared to my hemi at a wooping 10mpg I'm not going to complain and it will kick the but off my dodge pulling or in a 1/4 mile you made the right decision on the ecoboost there is not a truck out there that will touch it

I have a 2011 Eco with the 3.55 gear and get 18 to 19 city/highway. I think that pretty damn good. My last truck an s10...more like a car instead of a truck...only got 17mpg and it was a v6 too. I made the right choice on the Eco...
