Default Ecoboost blown up

Hey y'all I blew up my ecoboost last week. Threw a rod through the block. Truck had 90k miles on it. I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

My previous truck, a 2011 EcoBoost, threw a rod at 84,000 mi due to a stuck injector and was replaced under (extended) warranty.

We see quite a few stock 3.5 ecoboost engines bliw too... rod through the block is common. It looks like these engines actually hydrolocked.

I have heard of the stuck injector causing hydro lock too, and also due to a tune. Those I believe are the two main causes of EB failures. Takes quite a bit to hurt one of these otherwise.

I'm in the same boat as you. I was running a SSI 91 performance tune and threw a rod just cruising down the highway. It's a crappy deal, but I guess that's what happens when these little engines are pushed to the max. I hope it all works out for you.
