[QUOTE=Summers22;4630351]What the hell does it being a 5.0 have to do with that? Airbags and engines aren't related......good grief.

Nothing!!!! Was just saying!
Talking with Techs at different dealers, based most of my driving being highway miles, and the reliabilities of the turbos, I choose the 5.0.

They did give me a ECO boost to drive while they found me a new truck. It did seem a little better suited for city driving. But when up on the highway in Texas rolling 80 (yes speed-limit) the MPGs seem to be low, less than 16s.

Hopefully our new truck will be here today!

Just joined this forum today and was interested in the OP's question as well. Some of us don't have all day to play on here. He asked a question on the F-150 forum and it got ran over by a bunch of forum kids who apparently have nothing better to do other that post smart-*** remarks. **** this site.

This makes no sense.

If your precious *** (or personal secretary) has time to make a thread with the intention to read replies to it, then you obviously have time to use the search feature and read posts.

I had to make the same decision a year ago. I have been doing business with the same Ford dealership for years and have a great relationship with the Head of the Service Dept.. When I was ready to make the purchase, I wanted his input. He recommended the 5.0 and stated that the Eco was not getting the improvements that were advertised and felt that I would be happier overall with the Coyote engine. I have nothing to compare it to, but I am very happy with the 5.0 for what it's worth.

I'm a bit old school.....I'm a sucker for a V8. Yes the torque is there with the Eco but.....I just love the sound. I got the 5.0 in my '15 and I hover around 18mpg average so far.

so we're supposed to be your bitches and answer all your questions at a moment's notice. there is already something that does just that, it's called Google.

for future reference, as already mentioned 100's of times around here:
google "site:f150forum.com WhyAmISuchAWhinyPrick" will get you a much better set of search results than the search bar here, in less than 1 second.

PS, and to stay on topic: EB FTW

I don't know anything about the Ecoboost and have nothing to say good or bad about it but I can tell you this about my 5.0: I just got 21 mpg on a 200 mile trip traveling at 70mph. I have been getting about 14 with the very short trips I normally take into town and back, about 10 miles round trip. I also like the low rumble I heard from my living room tonight as my wife was pulling out of the driveway and took off down the street.
