Dumbest thing someone has said about your truck

"Is that a factory option? How do you get into your truck?" I got sick of petty thieves messing up my door handles, so I shaved them and installed door poppers on my 2000 F150.
He had never seen anything like it before when I pressed a button on my remote and the door popped open.

My ex brother in law, on the topic of towing:
"You have to be careful with a trailer that big, if you set the trailer brakes too high it can rip the transmission right off the truck."
There are so many things wrong with that statement... and yes, he's a bowtie driver.

1. I could hook up booster cable to the main starter cable and the frame, then use the remote.
2. I had a piece of wire connected to the passenger side door lock on the inside, then it was routed inside the door and poked out one of the drain holes in the bottom of the door. With the door closed, you could grab at it with needle nose pliers and pull. it would open the latch the same way the original mech did on the handle.
The doors were never "locked" as there wasn't any need.
I did also had a button hidden that I could hit to trigger the drivers popper in case something was up with the remote or I lost it.
Sorry, can't find an up close pic, but you can see that there were no handles. I liked how it cleaned up the look of the truck.

That's awesome. Does it ever get annoying, or did it when you first got it? Like going to grab the handle and having an "oh yeah, damn it" moment?

I loved it, it did take some getting used to. The times it was more of a pain was when you wouldn't normally lock the truck (in your garage) and needed to quickly get in to grab something. But having the button helped with that.
My wife hated it, she didn't like having to hit a button on the remote or wait for me to open it with mine. I used a generic remote relay controller, so I also could roll the windows down and start the truck.
I would do it again with a weekend rig, but not with a DD. Still miss that truck, it's been gone for almost 7 years now.

When got my first F150 in 1997 (1998 Supercab), my Dad's friend asked me if it had the "Trinitron V8". I corrected him that it was "Triton" which he refused to believe until we went out and looked at the badge on my truck. I guess he thought Sony got into the engine business.

noun
a question asked in order to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer.
"the presentation was characterized by impossibly long sentences and a succession of rhetorical questions"
