Default Dual Battery

I have an 04 Screw Lariat 4x4 and looking to do a dual battery set up. Anyone done this before or have any good ideas on where to place the second battery. I was thinking about putting the second battery in the bed. Any other iedas would be great.

i haven't heard much about it but if you have a bed box you could drill a hole in it run the wires and plug it with some rubber stopper... just an idea . . . why would you be doing this though?

I do not have a bed box but the reason i want to do this is I do a lot of tailgating and camping and often find myself needing the extra battery power.

A long time ago I installed a dual battery set up in a older Van.
I used a charging "Isolater" system. Most camping parts outlets
have them. They work great for just want you want. You can
run the extra added battery dead and it won't harm your normal
battery.

The only problem I ran into was, if one battery was on the dead
side and one almost fully charged, the almost fully charged one
would tend to get a bit over charged. Maybe todays dual systems
*fixed* that problem...
