Drove a 2.7 EB, 5.0V8, and 3.5 EB last night. Here are my impressions:

Great Post. Appreciate the honest opinions.
There were 2 factors that swayed me toward the 3.5.
1) I don't care about sound. Personally, If I want something for the sound of a V8, it's going to be a Mustang or Corvette. The truck just needs to do it's job.
2) (and most important) I think the 3.5 with Max Tow is a great deal. I wanted the 36 gal tank, brake controller, locker and tow package. When you look at having to buy them separately on the other engines vs. the package with the 3.5, it turns into a good deal.
Using a 145" XLT S-Crew, the option cost is:
3.5 + MaxTow = 3890 MSRP
5.0 + Trailer Tow + TBC + 3.55 E-locker + 36 Gal Tank = 4180
2.7 + Trailer Tow + TBC + 3.55 E-locker + 36 Gal Tank = 3180
IF you wan tall the options included in Max Tow (and can find a truck with the package or order), you SAVE $290 vs. the 5.0. With this package, the upgrade from a 2.7 to a 3.5 only costs $710
