Default Drive train jerk upon acceleration

I have a 2012 F150 Platinum with the Ecoboost engine, and have an intermittent problem that has me baffled.

Occasionally, when idling at low speed (perhaps through a parking lot, looking for a spot to park), if I slightly accelerate, there is a slight hesitation and then the truck BANGS forward, almost as if something in the drive train slipped and then re-engaged...I don't think its in the transmission.

It only does this occasionally, but when it does it's a pretty violent bang somewhere in the drive train.

The dealership has it right now but of course cannot recreate the problem; again, it's an intermittent occurence...

Anyone got any ideas or comments?

Thanks,

My '14 F-150 has always had a little looseness in the drive train which is considered normal, but it's nothing like you describe. Some here have had success with greasing the rear yoke. I don't know if that will help, but it is easy enough to try. Good luck.

BTW, don't ya know any problem we have will never rear it's ugly head when we take them to the dealer? It always happens to me.

Trucks are like kids in regards to how they act.
Do the 12th gens have the slip yoke bump issue?

Thanks Guys!

Yes: intermittent really means "This will NOT show up when it is in the repair shop!"

I appreciate your responses and will check that rear yoke.
