I think if your doing wheels/tires or just tires, the minimum would be 33". Those 285/65r18 are about 33", and would look good.

I used this for my leveling kit and it worked great. Have had it for 1 1/2 years now and no issues. Much cheaper than what you priced and just as effective. Ride quality is the same as stock.

Looking a lot better! Got a level and new tires. Bilstein 5100 shocks in the front and BFG ATs (265/70/17). It's a start! I'm going to have the Bilsteins installed in the rear next week.
Apparently, I'm 1/8" too high. I guess with the Bilstein 5100s, it's impossible to dial in a precise level. According to my sales guy, the technician that did my truck said it was either 1/8" too high, or 3/4" too low (they take measurements before starting the work). Sounds like you have to upgrade to the super-expensive coil over Bilsteins if you want to customize the height perfectly. Those shocks are just simply out of my price range, though. I guess I'll settle for being 1/8" too high.
Would it be ridiculously-silly to fuss over being 1/8" too high on the lift? It's very difficult, if it not impossible (for me, at least) to tell that it's off.
What do you think?

Wheels would be the greatest cosmetic upgrade, IMO. I'm not a fan of the newer grills, too semi looking for me but obviously somebody likes it. Bigger tires means your speedo will need re-calibrating, not sure what's involved there.

Here's your truck with the factory bling. Well actually it's my truck but you might see what can be done. I would not put 20's on that truck until you compare prices for tires. Price tires for your size rim then compare the same size on a 20" rim. You might be shocked at the difference. Those aren't chrome wheels so you could do all kinds of color treatments to them from black plastidip (I'd leave the center covers as is) to trying to color match the paint.

But, seriously... leave the front alone and think about a 1" lift block over the rear axle. This way, you won't have the front higher than the back; you'd have a little rake left over so that when you put a few hundred lbs in the bed you'd sit about level...
And I agree with you on tire size: keep the size increase conservative if only! for the preservation of your effective final drive gearing and avoid the effect of going much "taller" on your gearing, which slows your truck's acceleration and may affect fuel mileage.
