I'm a shelter volunteer and transport in my personal vehicle a lot, I can tell you that if I put one in the truck bed, they wouldn't let me transport or probably volunteer again. I use a car harness that uses the factory seat belt system

When I hunt my dog rides in a kennel in the bed.
Any other time he is in the front seat with me.
I have seat covers so the leather does not get ruined

some of you are nuts ..
Anyway, my guy rides in the cab in the winter but loves the bed come summer. No I won't leave him in the bed for long drives/hwy etc..So u can relax. It's the way I do it and if some one wants to tell me that I "don't love my dog" cause of it they can get bent. My guy loves the bed. I have a teather to the center of the bed and he couldn't jump out(although he isn't stupid enough to) cause I didn't baby him like some on here his whole life. It's a dog guys. I've done this for years with zero issues.

Hi everyone- I ended up going with one of these: http://tinyurl.com/a5ltg3j
with one of these to go over it: http://tinyurl.com/bzut6bu
I used a ratchet strap to anchor it down up against the back of the cab to cut down on wind. Luckily I wasn't traveling with the family this weekend so she rode in the extended cab and was quite comfortable. She's not an experienced bed rider and is sort of a pampered girl. So she'll be fine in this crate. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and most important of all, more safe!
