Having said that....I could see Ford possibly replacing the 6.2 with the 5.8 in the future. I'm not up on how the 5.8 is built technology wise....but the 6.2 is old tech relatively speaking. Thats probably the only possibility. I wouldn't see Ford keeping the 5.0, EB, 6.2 then adding the 5.8. Maybe an NA version of the 5.8 will fill in for the 6.2 eventually. Just a thought.

Screw the F150, hopefully Ford puts the 5.8L into a redesigned Ford GT supercar and makes a run at the corvette ZR1's performance.

I've read that there is a small diesel for the half ton trucks. Idk if dodge, ford, and Chevy all have one but I think I read that Chevy has one just waiting for the economy to calm down. And I'm sure what one has the other will follow

Diesel power magazine said Nissan is working with Cummins to put a 2.8l diesel in the titans

I think u might be rite in them replacing the 6.2L in the future with the 5.8L seeing as the 6.2 is just a bigger 5.4L but i still like for them to release it but maybe they won't the 5.8 like a person said earlier is more of a car engine and i think ford pretty much reached there peak with the this engine with out radically redesigning it .lol they took this 5.4L bored it ,stroked it,2v,3v,4v is there any more they could have done after 15/20 years! lol for it to go on for so long it must be a really good strong engine

The Big 3 announced it a few years ago but later said they were suspending it indefinatley. I think it is a good idea, more power, better MPG, and when a diesel is running correctly they burn cleaner than a gasoline engine. With diesel technology moving forward faster these days I see no reason why they dont. You see them more and more now in more newer cars so why not in more newer trucks? Ford's concept Bronco was gonna have a diesel in it.

Quick Reply: do you think they will put the new 5.8 liter in the F-150?
