F150 PROS:

1. Better mileage

2. Smoother on smooth roads

3. Push button start

4. Giant sunroof

5. Fancier looking interior

6. More options in general

F150 CONS:

1. Sluggish in comparison

2. Aluminum body

3. Doesn’t handle as well in corners

4. Less payload 1200 vs 1600

5. Sunroof “may” have issues

GMC PROS:

1. More power

2. Seats more comfortable

3. Handles corners better

4. Smoother over rough roads

5. Higher payload 1600 vs 1200

6. More of a head turner (with current set up)

7. Has leveling kit

8. Oversize tires

9. $2700 bed cover

10. Caliper Covers

11. Black Emblems

12. Dual exhaust

13. Flashy wheels

GMC CONS:

1. Dismal fuel mileage 8 MPG less than the Ford

2. No cooled seats

3. Interior plain looking vs the Ford

So that is 6 PROS for Ford, and 5 CONS which nets a +1

The GMS has 13 PROS, and 3 CONS for a net of +10

Based on what your pros and cons, it seems you are leaning toward the GMC.

However, you also need to base the cost of ownership which is pro FORD. Better fuel mileage, at about the same price. If you average 25K at year, you will save about $2,000 in fuel. Now you say you are saving $300 per month, that is another $3,600 savings so you are now saving $5,600 or about $466.67 per month.

If you decide to do some exterior upgrades to the Ford, you can lessen the wow factor so that the Ford and GMC will be closer in looks, and you like others have said can chip the Ford, to make is “less” sluggish.

The interior there is not much you can do about, and that my friend is where you spend most of your time. So which interior do you really like better, the looks or the comfort of the GMC? I know my Ford is much more comfortable than my friends GMC, and not by just a little, but then again, I have a higher trim level, so I can’t compare, and it’s your butt that matters because you’re driving it.

The GMC has been modified, so the payload isn’t really more then the Ford, but if you do any customizations to the Ford you will only drop the payload of it as well.

Also remember it cost more to do an oil change on a diesel than it does gas, so keep that in mind, but I believe your long-term maintenance will be less on the Ford than the GMC.

I have had Ford, Chevy/GMC, Dodge. I will say ALL my GMC products have left me on the side of the road. None of the Fords have, and only one Dodge has so keep that in mind.

Also look at the SAFETY features of each. Which will protect your family should you be involved in an accident. It doesn’t matter which one looks better before the accident. Which one will give you the best chance of walking away safely.

There you have it. Your list says keep the GMC, but when you peel back all the layers of the onion it seems to scream keep the Ford.

Last thing, if you were so happy with the GMC to begin with, I don’t think you would have ever looked at another vehicle anyway.

Great points! Iím slowly leaning towards the Ford. The best way I can explain it is the GMC is the girl you want to go out with and the Ford is the one you want to marry. LOL

As soon as GM pays back the $11.2 billion dollars that we (the US Taxpayers) lost when Obama sold the GM stock I'll consider buying a vehicle from them.

Like that will ever happen

I used to think the same thing until I got burned on a couple of Explorers with major safety issues and an Expedition with a random starting problem. All 2014-2017 models.

Simple, put both up for sale and see which one sells first. Keep the one that did not sell.
