Which do I sell???
I bought a 2018 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the new 3.0 turbo diesel with the thought that it would replace my 2018 GMC 1500 SLT w/All Terrain package and 6.2L. After driving the Ford for several days I’m ready to sell the GMC until I drive the GMC, then I really like the driving dynamics better in the GMC.
The Ford is financed at 0% so I will save about $20K over the course of the note. I owe about the same on each. I’m requesting constructive feedback and have also posted it on a GM forum for both side’s biased opinions. F150 Pros: better mileage, smoother on smooth roads, push button start, giant sunroof, fancier looking interior, Lariat has more options in general. F150 Cons: sluggish in comparison, I’m not a big fan of the aluminum, doesn’t handle as well in the corners, very low payload (less than, 1,200 lbs), giant sunroof seems to have a lot of issues. GMC Pros: tons more power from the 6.2L, more comfortable seats, handles corners better, smoother over rough roads, higher payload (over 1,600 lbs), more of a head turner with current set up, already has leveling kit, oversize tires, $2,700 bed cover, caliper covers, black emblems, dual exhaust, flashy wheels. GMC Cons: dismal mileage, no cooled seats, more plain looking interior. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...6d1d9324e.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...29fa49ad8.jpeg |
Both, recession is coming

Yeah I'm not seeing $20k in interest charges on an auto loan.
You bought TWO trucks to see which one you liked better? And you're looking for other people to tell you which one you should keep? If ever there was a decision a person needed to make on his own, this would be it |
Sell both and buy a Dodge.

You about to get a harsh lesson about the meaning of "depreciation".

If ever there was a decision a person needed to make on his own, this would be it I know I made a few poor decisions, but I’m the one paying for it. I’m not looking for insults, but insight of anything that I’m not considering as I make this decision. |
GMC will rust out in 2 years...... and it gets worse gas mileage. Also, the F150 will handle tons better with $500 in Bilstein shocks. As for payload, thats what you get for having a Lariat. My XL has a payload of 2070 lbs. Also not sure why you compare a 3.0 diesel to a 6.2 gas engine. Of course the 3.0 will feel sluggish in comparison.

Nothing will rust out, I’m in the south. “That’s what you get for having a Lariat”??? The GMC is a Lariat equivalent, but at least it has a higher payload than a Honda Ridgeline. I’m simply comparing them because they are what I have to compare. I was just looking for any insight to anything that I’m overlooking. I’ve obviously made a few purchasing mistakes in the past and don’t want to do it again. Thanks for the feedback on the Bilsteins, I had forgotten about that.
Of course the GMC feels more powerful, it has a crap ton more horsepower. Derp. You shouldn't even be comparing the power between the two as they have two very different purposes. Do the stuff to the Ford that you did to the GMC (keep in mind every single thing you add to the trucks that add weight subtract from the payload, so whatever you added to the GMC subtracted from payload: heavier wheels/tires, heavier suspension components, etc.). |
Well which motor and transmission combo do you think will last longer? Which one suites your needs more? Gets better MPG's?
