Look at the rear leg room difference, as well as the height of the F150's headrests VS Gm's.

The leg room and overall cabin room is one of the main reasons I converted from a Chevy. The room in the back and the flat surface floor is amazing. The only truck with more room in the back is the mega cab ram. And that will be my next truck. I couldn't be happier and my dog probably feels the same way...

Fords engines in general never impressed me... gutless was usually about the best description I could use. I like the 6.2 because it shares a lot of common ground with GM's ls engines in design. I like V8 ' s with shorter strokes and minimum 4" bore... not that under square crap with dinky multi valve heads. It's amazing how much simpler one valve each is and how much flow that setup provides... I found the power good with these and was tired of GM.... so I bought an FX4 and an XLT so equipped. These will be my last Ford trucks... the rest of their engines are absolutely zero interest to me.... just like in the past.

The simplicity of the 6.2 also lead to the demise of the 6.2 in the F150. They could have made it more complex and gotten a little more power and better economy out of it.
It doesn't matter how good the fuel mileage is in the Super Duty because HD trucks don't have to meet Café standards.

I have the 5.0 with 3.55 rear end in my truck, and my dad has the 6.2L with 3.73 rear end in his 2011 Limited. I really don't think his 6.2 is that much more lively than my 5.0, especially not enough to justify the $2,000 upcharge. It's got loads more low-end torque but my 5.0 does the same things almost as well, and gets better mileage.

I'm sure it will live on in the Super Duty because it's a tough, heavy duty motor. A cast-iron block big bore V8 is not long for the world in a half ton. I knew the 6.2 wouldn't live on in the new body style. I think with the new trucks being 700lbs lighter, the 5.0 will pick up where the 6.2 left off.

Lol... the 5 liter.... uh huh. Maybe your old man's 6.2 is a dud... I drove one of those in my searches. Not to mention its in one of the heaviest configurations of half tons being a limited. Give my cheapie XLT SCab 4x4 with a 6.2 a whirl and see how lively that 5 liter feels lol. Both of my trucks will skull drag a 5 liter so bad it's not even worth calling a challenge. Puny V8's have no place in heavy trucks... The Ecoboost at least does quite well thanks to the use of forced induction.

Looks like I will be holding on to my 6.2L limited for many years. It might start to appreciate. Ha!

Sure. You are close enough.. Bring that bad boy to Castrol and enjoy watching my tail lights get smaller ahead of you. I remember you saying whatever Calgary dealer you are at doesn't even get 6.2's so hanging with them all the time... okay. And sorry... that Super Duty junk doesn't count.
